  • Road Improvements – We continue to make progress on the road repairs in Kings Colony.  There are still major problems with the roads, but work is being done constantly to repair and improve the situation.   
  • Mail Delivery – The US Postal Service has installed boxes at the entrance to Section 1 and residents are able to receive mail there. 
  • Electrical Service – Over the past year the POA has been working with the power company to have several miles of easements cleared and power lines installed. 
  • Annual Meeting - The New Kings Colony Property Owners Association 2011 annual meeting will be held on August 4, 2011 at 6 PM at the Lone Star College-Kingwood in the Student Center/Fine Arts building, room 125/126 at the following address:
    • Location -       20000 Kingwood Drive, SFA Room 125/126
                                Kingwood, TX 77339.
    • Agenda – Members will elect a new director to fill a vacancy on the board.
    • Election - The record date for the election will be July 31, 2011.  To be eligible to participate in the election you must be in good standing as of this date.
    • Proxy Voting – If you will not attend the meeting and wish to cast your vote by proxy you may choose a friend or board member to cast that proxy vote on your behalf.  We have included a proxy form for you or you can print one from the web address below.  You may include the form with your payment.
    • Annual Assessments – To cast your vote you must be a member in good standing.  Assessments on all lots owned must be paid along with late fees in order for a member to be in good standing.

The New Kings Colony POA held its annual meeting on July 1, 2009.  Property owners in attendance and through proxy elected the following board members:

John Harris                          President
Robin Lane                          Vice President
Gina Lopez                           Secretary
William Harris                      Director
Elizabeth Ward                    Director

The current board, having been in control of the POA for the last several months, has been able to pay off a large amount of debt incurred by the previous board and negotiate settlements with some creditors, which has saved thousands of dollars.  The problems facing the POA today will not be solved easily.  The previous board of directors spent more money than was available and left the POA in debt before resigning in 2008.  A large amount of debt still remains unpaid. 

Limited income combined with mismanagement by the prior board has left a huge burden on the association.  The subdivision property remains in a state of disrepair.  Many of the roads are not drivable and hundreds of lots have no access to electricity.  Thanks to property owners who have continued to pay their annual assessments trash has been mostly cleaned up and a few of the more dangerous potholes have been filled.  It will be a gradual rebuilding process to make Kings Colony a livable neighborhood with the limited funds available and the promises made by the original developer and the prior boards of directors may never be realized.

New Kings Colony has a new board of directors.  We still have not received all of the records from the prior board, so we are operating without a full knowledge of what has been going on over the last few months.  As soon as we receive all records from the prior board members we will post a full report of the status of the association.  If you have immediate questions please send those to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
